DOC'S MANSION

VERSION FRANCAISE

The inheritance

In 1955, Doc lives in a large mansion at 1640 Riverside drive. The property was inherited from his parents. We know next to nothing of Docs family, aside from the fact that they settled in Hill Valley in 1908. At that time they were the Von Brauns.

The disaster

Several years later, the mansion was destroyed in a fire. This is likely to has been caused by an experiment gone awry. Doc kept a newspaper article reporting the event. Another article on the wall indicates that the land was subsequently sold to developers who built a Burger King restaurant on the site.

Doc has retained the garage of his old dwelling where he still lives in 1985. His house number has changed, now 1646 in the same street of which name changed into Kennedy drive.

Intellectual guides

Despite the fire, Doc retained three portraits of pioneers whose genius and discoveries changed the course of history : Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein.

ISAAC NEWTON

Franklin

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

Edison

THOMAS EDISON

Einstein

ALBERT EINSTEIN

The fourth portrait, seen in the 1955 dwelling, is that of Isaac Newton.

Doc's companion

Copernicus

In 1955, Emmet Brown has as his only companion a dog called Copernicus (another celebrated scholar). The animal is often a guinea pig in Docs strange experiments.
