This floater is not really bothering when I'm outside because it's localized in the bottom of my vision. I quite never notice the clear thread. On the contrary, what I call the big knot in the middle of it, is visible even in badly-lit rooms. But it's annoying me much when I'm typing this words in front of my computer because I see this black thing going up and down as my eyes look up to the screen and down to the keyboard.
Sometimes, the thread is quite taut, like the picture on the left. That's the way it was when I first noticed it. The first times, my vitreous was less liquefied than today, that's why the thread was always tight. Now, the floater often looks like the second drawing. The knot itself doesn't change : its shape has remained the same since summer 2000 when it first appeared.
