WHAT I SEE :

This is roughly what I see in the worst conditions (White clear wall and squinting my eyes). But I always see the black central knot (but it is in the bottom so it's not too bothering) and the big cobweb which is not far from my central vision (this is the biggest problem to deal with).

WHAT MARK SEES :

"I am 29 years old....I started getting floaters about 1.5 years ago .
They get worse every week ."

Thank you Mark for this interesting drawing. Quite scary, isn't it ?

NICHOLAS' FLOATER :

Such a strange shape cannot come from your imagination...

DANIEL'S FLOATER :

Daniel's floaters all appeared in April 2001.

FLOATERS AS SEEN BY JOHN

Here are his own comments :

"This drawing shows a representative sample of the numerous shadows of floaters that are in both eyes viewed by looking through a pinhole held close to the eye. These shadows range in size from very tiny and sharp to large and fuzzy. I am 66 years old. My e-mail address is johnbstouffer@attbi.com ".

FLOATERS AS SEEN BY EMMA :

"The picture shows what i can see in a brightly lit environment. I have tried to include everything : hundreds of tiny flashing spots (like fireworks going off), floating jelly-like (translucent) spots and squiggly lines, a dark web of strands, with larger dark patches, which floats around as my eye moves, two small central flashing lights. I've been to the opticians but so far they have found nothing wrong with my eyes. Thankyou for your great site and for providing support to many. "          From Emma.

FLOATERS AS SEEN BY SIMON :

Simon's floaters
[LEFT EYE] [RIGHT EYE]

"You asked for drawings on your website of floaters.  A good idea it is!

I have included drawings (as best I can represent them) of the main floaters (there are others but these are by far the worst) that I see in both eyes and I cannot stress enough how mentally and physically it so drastically adversely affects everything I do and think about.  The main floaters begin in the lower left/right of my left/right eye respectively and they move throughout my vision as I naturally move my eyes.  When you look at the images ask yourself  "Could I live with that?"   Well here's someone who has - and I've done it for over 13 LONG and EXTREMELY TOUGH years!!!  " From Simon.

FLOATERS SENT BY A 23 YEAR OLD GIRL :

WHAT A 18 YEAR-OLD GIRL SEES :

"Hello - I'm an 18 yr old girl that found out I have a floater in my left eye at the beginning of this week.  I attached a drawing of what I "NOW" see when I look at my dog.  Luckily I only have one of these suckers and I'm pray that it will go away !"
